Testing the ZBoard — electric skateboard without remote

Today we got the opportunity to try out the ZBoard 2 electric skateboard — which doesn’t have a remote.

Instead, you place your front foot on a rubber pad to accelerate. And your back foot on another rubber pad to engage the breaks.

This actually seem to work very intuitive and well, at least during our (very short) test drive.

The Zboard 2 comes in two editions; Blue (USD 1,300) and Pearl (USD 1,500). Here are the specs, according to the manufacturer:

  • Max Speed: 32 kph (ok).
  • Range: Up to 38 km (wow, that good).
  • Power: 1000W (good enough).
  • Weight: 8.6 kg (light, thats good).
